3 Spring Essentials For A Great Front Porch
Are you looking for a fresh new way to decorate your porch? Where do you find inspiration? For me, I love doormats! The color and patterns are a great place for me to find inspiration for my porch. Plus for $10-$15, you can buy a cute new mat. As much as I would love planters gushing with fresh tulips, the weather is too cold in my area for real spring flowers. So we have to be creative with colors and patterns that emphasize spring.
Three Spring Essentials for any porch are:
-
Colorful or Patterned Doormat
-
Furniture: Bins, Chair or Bench
-
Spring Wreath Or Flowers

Step 1: Start with a Great Doormat
Target is one of my favorite places to get doormats. It seems they always have a great selection and I love the prices. I went through and want to show you some of my favorite picks.

Picking out a fun and cheerful mat is a great start to a spring porch.
Step 2: Add Furniture
Now to add some structure with furniture. One of these days I am going to have a porch bench and rockers…but well I just haven’t made it there yet. For now, I use bins to add some structure and height to my front porch.
I found the bins at IKEA and then painted them teal. I love adding a pop of color to the porch, especially in early spring when not everything is green yet!
Here are some other bins or small tables that would look great on the front porch!

Step 3: Throw in Flowers
No spring porch is complete without some type of flowers or greenery. Whether you throw up a spring wreath or put some flowers in a vase or pitcher, it adds that special touch of spring. As I mentioned earlier, it is too cold to keep real flowers alive on my porch….so I headed to the store and bought a few different bunches.
I also grabbed a grapevine wreath and put together a spring wreath for the front door. Can you believe I have never had a spring wreath up before! Crazy, I know. Apparently I spent the last several years just admiring everyone else’s wreaths. Within 20 minutes, I had my wreath made! If you want to see step by step how I made the wreath, check out the tutorial on my DIY Fall Wreath. I used the same process.
