3 Week Spring Cleaning Checklist
In a five day period this post has changed quite drastically. In the beginning, I wanted to create a simple spring cleaning checklist. I wanted to keep it simple, mainly because I am so busy in March with high school tennis. However, fast forward a couple of days and well my schedule is now wide open!
As I began making the list, I started to realize that there is nothing simple about spring cleaning! I mean, there is just so much to do! If you simplify it…it ends up not being very thorough.
However, sometimes we just don’t want to clean every inch of our homes, so I created balance! I broke the checklist up into 3 different lists. Complete the cleaning that needs to be done in your home without feeling like you need to tackle your entire house. Unless of course you want to channel all your quarantined energy into cleaning, which I’m all for! Below you will find 3 different spring cleaning checklists!

Spring Cleaning Checklists
The goal is to complete each checklist in one week. If you decide to do all 3 checklists…then it will take 3 weeks. If you only want to do one list, then it will only take you one week! By splitting the lists up, it gives you more flexibility.
Cleaning Supplies
Here are a few cleaning supplies that come in really handy for spring cleaning!
Dusting Ceilings
I use a cobweb duster. Especially with textured ceilings, this duster works so well! I have an HDX cobweb duster with a microfiber wand attachment, which is similar to the one pictured below.
I walk back and forth with the cobweb duster extended to dust the ceiling. Just be careful not to run into your furniture (not that I have ever done that!)…which can happen when you are looking up!
Dusting Ceiling Fans
A microfiber attachment works great for this job! I find it easy to bend the arm and extend the pole to easily dust your ceiling fan. It works great to reach into light fixtures as well!
Washing Walls
I first use a dry sweeper and place a microfiber cloth on it to dust the walls. Then take a sponge floor mop, dip it into a bucket full of soapy water and scrub the walls! It works really well. If you have large scuffs, you will have to use something else to scrub. See my post HERE with more details.
Cleaning Vents, Tile, or Removing Gunk & Grime
Scrubbing brushes are perfect for scrubbing grout, scrubbing vents and getting off any tough gunk or grime. It is always nice to have a variety of scrubbing brushes so you always have the size you need.
Once you have all the supplies ready to go, you are ready to choose your spring cleaning checklist!
Spring Cleaning Checklist: Bedrooms
This spring, I hope to start with our bedrooms! I know the walls are really dusty and I am always afraid to check the ceiling fan. In fact, I am hoping to repaint the girls room soon (and maybe my bedroom), so getting the bedrooms clean will help jump start that project!
I mean you can’t keep a DIYer cooped up for 3 weeks and not expect them to start painting!
Spring Cleaning Checklist: Kitchen
The kitchen is probably one of those rooms that needs spring cleaning the most…but let’s be honest, it is not fun pulling out the stove. Unfortunately, it has to be done….so use this checklist to get your kitchen feeling squeaky clean! I will be tackling this list on week 2 and posting to facebook, so join us HERE.
Spring Cleaning Checklist: All Rooms
If you only have time for one list! This is the best overall list. If you want deep cleaning for all the rooms in your house, follow this checklist. You could do one task, such as dust all the ceilings for day one or you could complete the list each day in a different room.
I will be posting my spring cleaning progress (starting March 23rd) on the Soon To Be Charming Facebook page…I would love for you to join! Please don’t make me do it alone!!
Happy cleaning and thanks for checking out my post!
