DIY Paper Garland
My mudroom was in desperate need of some holiday cheer. I went downstairs to my craft desk and started pulling out supplies. I thought making paper garland would be fun.
The mudroom has a lot of bright colors, so I needed something colorful. On the blog a girl & a glue gun, I found the brilliant idea to use cookie cutters as stencils. To check out her paint chip Christmas garland, click Here.
Paper Garland
Here we go. I began by picking out a few different colors of scrapbook paper and then traced the shapes.
My daughter and I cut them out.
We used a different color of paper for each shape, except for the trees. I wanted more trees, so we cut them out in two different colors.
A piece of white yarn was strung to hang the garland and I used miniature clothes pins to attach the shapes.
I included a few silver snow flake ornaments to add some sparkle.
For the 10-20 minutes it took, it added a lot of Christmas spirit to the mudroom. I scrounged up a wreath I had bought to go on the playhouse…yes, I decorate the playhouse. Now I am starting to realize why my Christmas shopping isn’t done yet….oops. Anyways, I didn’t need the wreath outside so thought it would look great in the mudroom.
Much better! Now it isn’t the only room without Christmas decorations. Once again, thanks for stopping by and reading my post.
Often times the simple things are the best! It looks great!
Thanks Julie!
