Trimming the tree always holds such fond memories for me. Reaching down into a bin and pulling out a carefully wrapped handmade ornament. It is like a time warp! With every branch decorated your mind is filled with wonderful memories and maybe even laughs as you recall the ornament and who gave it to you. I enjoy making ornaments, whether it is with my kids or as a gift for family members…but time is always an issue. Several years ago, I came across this angel ornament on a blog called Frugal Upstate. It was very cute, and easy to make, the perfect craft for a busy holiday season.
Craft Supplies
- Jumbo Butterfly Paperclips
- Silver Pony Beads
- Silver Disk Beads (preferably with fluted edge)
- Ribbon (cut into 1 foot strips)
To make one Angel, you will only need one of each item listed above.
Step 1 Tie the Ribbon
Start by tying the ribbon into a small knot.
Step 2 Loop The Ribbon Onto The Paperclip
Make sure the points of the paperclip are pointed up (those are the wings). Loop the ribbon through the middle of the paperclip.
Stick the ends (where the knot is), through the loop of the ribbon.
Then pull the ends of the ribbon until it is tight.
Step 3 Add The Beads
Start with the pony bead and slide it onto the ribbon.
Then slide on the disk bead for a crown.
Angel completed! It is perfect as a gift topper or simply to hang on the tree.
I think this is such a cute ornament and love hanging it on my tree. Hope you will too….thanks for checking out my post!

Wow, this is beautiful. It made me think of my mom as she is my angel, but also because this is something she would love to make. She was very crafty. Gorgeous
How special that it made you think of your Mom. Thank you for your sweet comments Kathy!
