Classic Spaghetti and Meatballs
Ingredients
- 12 Ounces dry spaghetti noodles, uncooked
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup dry italian-style bread crumbs
- 1 can Hunt's four cheese pasta sauce
- 1 can Hunt's fire roasted diced tomatoes with garlic, drained (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, combine ground beef, egg, cheese and bread crumbs in bowl. Divide meat mixture into 14 portions and roll each into a 2-inch ball. Place in a shallow baking pan. Bake 10-15 minutes or until done.
- Place pasta sauce and drained tomatoes in large saucepan; simmer over medium heat 5 minutes or until hot.
- Add hot spaghetti and cooked meatballs to sauce. Toss to coat.
The Pasta
After preheating the oven, cook the pasta according to package directions.
The Meatballs
Meanwhile, combine ground beef, egg, cheese and bread crumbs.
Then roll the meat into 2″ balls, it will make around 14 meatballs, and place in a shallow baking pan.
Bake 10 – 15 minutes or until cooked through. I find that it normally takes closer to 15 minutes.
The Sauce
Heat up your pasta sauce, we typically go without the diced tomatoes since our family is not big on tomato chunks. So customize the recipe to fit your family!
Then add your meatballs to the sauce and you are ready to serve.
Did I mention this was quick and easy spaghetti and meatballs? It really is! Plus…over the last few months with the beef shortage I have had to buy pre-made meatballs, and they definitely don’t compare with homemade!
