Walnut Blondie with Maple Butter Syrup
My heart overflows when I am gathered around the thanksgiving table with family. Thanksgiving week is here! All month we have had so much fun with our Thanksgiving tree. The kids love to write down something they are thankful for and pin it up on the tree. My husband and I have enjoyed it too. Sometimes it is hard to write only one thing down. I feel like it has really helped prepare our hearts for this week and I look forward to reading all the leaves on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving also includes delicious food, which brings me to one of my favorite desserts. I discovered this recipe a few years back from a friend, and have been making it every Thanksgiving since. The warm maple butter syrup drapes over the vanilla ice cream as it begins to melt into the Walnut Blondie brownie. It is perfection for your mouth, you seriously can not get enough of this incredible dessert. Now that your mouth is watering, let’s get started.

- Combine flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda and sift twice.
- Add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, mix well and set aside.
- Melt butter, when melted add brown sugar and mix well.
- Then add egg and vanilla and mix well.
- Add flour mixture slowly, mixing well.

Time to Get Started…
Pour the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
Next sift all those ingredients together back and forth, so it goes through twice.
It’s amazing how much finer the dry ingredients are once they are sifted! Add the walnuts and then set aside.
.
In a second bowl add 1/3 cup butter melted and the brown sugar. Mix well. Add the egg and vanilla and mix well again.
Next, add the flour mixture slowly and mix them together.
Add the white chocolate chips.
Spread into a greased 9″ X 9″ pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350. (I doubled my recipe that why it is shown in a 9″ X 13″ pan)
Maple Butter Syrup Topping
While that is baking, you can make the Maple Butter Syrup.
Melt 1/2 cup of butter and cream cheese in a pan with the maple syrup. Then stir in the brown sugar until it is dissolved.
Your Maple Butter Syrup is ready.
Your Masterpiece
Take a piece of your Walnut Blondie, if it just came out of the oven it will still be warm. If it has been sitting, you can place it in the microwave for a few seconds. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, then pour over the sauce. When you are done using the sauce refrigerate it. You will want to warm it up before serving next time. Sprinkle Walnuts on top and your masterpiece is complete.
This dessert is one of my absolute favorites. The pictures hardly do it justice. After I took all these pictures, I had to take care of the dessert. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it! It didn’t disappoint.
